Stark County Fee Schedule
Commercial Plan Examination Fees. All plans and specifications for buildings covered by the Ohio Building Code shall be examined under the provisions of the OBC where applicable. The fees of examination of plans for remodeling, addition or new construction shall be as follows:

The above fees are due at the time of submission for plan review along with three sets of drawings and completed application forms.

Commercial -Schedule of Permit Fees. The following is a list of all permits fees for the inspections required under the OBC for new buildings or structures, additions or preparation for placement of industrialized units, alterations, or change of uses:

Site Work. Site work permits will be based on $2.00/1000 sq. ft. on the paved area or areas where electric wiring is installed. Service stations permits will be based on $2.00/100 sq. ft. on the paved area because of the amount of inspections that are required.

*THERE WILL BE A MINIMUM PERMIT FEE OF $100.00 ON ANY COMMERCIAL PERMIT.

****PLEASE NOTE: SINCE OUR FEE STRUCTURE IS BASED ON SQUARE FOOTAGE, IF THE WORK AREA FOR A PROJECT IS SUBSTANIALLY DIFFERENT THAN THE AREA OF THE STRUCTURE CONTACT THE STARK COUNTY BUILDING DEPARTMENT AND WE WILL EVALUATE THE FEE ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS.

Residential Plan Examination Fees. All new dwellings, additions, and alterations require plans examination under the Residential Code of Ohio. Two sets of plans must be submitted to our department for review. The following are the fees for residential construction:

  1. Plans review fee for the general building, including all trades submitted with the original drawings shall be $75.00.
  2. Plan review for individual trade submission shall be $50.00 for each submission.
  3. For a prototypical home built multiplied times, a master plan may be reviewed and kept on file. A $75.00 plan review fee shall be paid at the initial submission and a $50.00 application fee shall be paid with each subsequent permit issued for this master plan. Master plans shall include all mechanical and electrical plans in one complete set.

Residential -Schedule of Permit Fees. The following is list of all permit fees for the inspections required under the RCO for new buildings or structures, additions, alterations, or repairs:

Replacement Work. One for one replacement work will be done as a one-time special inspection permit provided the all design perimeters remain the same. (i.e...size, ratings, efficiencies, etc.)

Re-inspection fees. Fee must be paid before you reschedule.

Application cards. Forms and permit cards should be filled out in completion.

Penalty Fees. Failure to make application in a timely manner for required permits shall result in a 200% penalty fee on all applicable fees.

Expiration. Permits shall be valid for a period of twelve months from date of issuance.

Individuals acting as their own prime contractors shall secure their own separate permits.
