Prosecuting Attorney

Duties

The County Prosecuting Attorney is charged with the duty of inquiring into the commission of crimes within Stark County.  The Prosecutor shall prosecute, on behalf of the State of Ohio, all complaints, suits and controversies in which the state is a party except those specifically excluded by state law.  As legal adviser to the board of county commissioners, board of elections, township boards and all other county officials and boards, including tax supported public libraries, the Prosecuting Attorney is required to represent and on request to issue written opinions or instructions on matters connected with their official duties.

  • Stark County Prosecuting Attorney appointed March, 2003 and elected November, 2004 to a four year term starting January 1, 2005, reelected November, 2008 and November, 2012 for another four year term.
