About UsThe Stark County Fair Housing Department (SCFHD) is dedicated to the elimination of housing discrimination and the enforcement of fair housing laws. The staff strives to ensure equal opportunities in housing to all residents. The SCFHD covers all of Stark County with the exception of the city of Massillon. The Stark County Fair Housing Department’s mission is to eliminate housing discrimination, racial and sexual harassment and to ensure housing opportunities for all people regardless of a person’s race, color, sex, religion, ancestry, national origin, handicap or familial status. In furthering this goal, the department promotes equal housing opportunity through leadership, education, and outreach. The department identifies barriers to fair housing in order to help counteract and eliminate discriminatory housing practices. All appropriate and necessary actions are taken to ensure that fair housing laws are properly and fairly enforced throughout the cities of Alliance, Canton, and Stark County.
Fair Housing Opens Doors! The Fair Housing Laws protect you, but only if you report unfair treatment. It is up to you to make the call if you feel your rights have been violated.
