Fair Housing The Stark County Fair Housing Department is a government agency dedicated to the attainment of equal housing opportunities for all persons under the 1968 Fair Housing Law.  Our main goal is to insure that the laws against housing discrimination are enforced.  The Stark County Fair Housing Department investigates complaints by people who feel they have been discriminated against.

HOUSING DISCRIMINATION
Housing discrimination is different treatment to homeseekers because of their race, color, sex, religion, national origin, handicap, or familial status:

• by giving different sale or rental prices to keep someone out.
• by refusing to sell, rent, lease, or show available housing.
• by informing homeowners that their property values will decrease because minorities are relocating to the neighborhood.
• by refusing to lend money for the purchase, maintenance, or rehabilitation of housing.
