Construction Traffic Interruptions

I-77 Widening Update :

     Checkout the Road Wise site for the latest updates on I 77 construction.

Currently two lanes are being maintains in each direction.  There will be lane restrictions on the following sections:

• Southbound between Shuffel Dr and Belden Village St.
• Southbound at Fulton Dr.
• The southbound exit ramp to Fulton Dr.
• Both directions from Tuscarawas St to 4th St NW.

The following roads may have lane restrictions under the interstate overpasses: 

• Portage St
• Whipple Ave
• Everhard Rd 

The following ramps are closed: 

• The Everhard Road entrance ramp to I-77 southbound will remain closed for most of 2006.
• The I-77 southbound exit ramp to Harrison Ave at 13th St.
• The I-77 southbound entrance ramp from Harrison Ave at 13th St.
• The I-77 southbound entrance ramp from Tuscarawas St is closed until mid-summer 2007.

The following bridges over I-77 will be closed:

• Tuscarawas St
• 4th St NW

Canton City :
     Fulton Rd will have lane restrictions at various locations for the upgrading of traffic signals from 7 AM to 3:30 PM daily until 11/1/07.
     The following roads are closed:

• The ¿Harrison Connector¿ between 13th St. and Harrison Ave.
• Harrison Ave. between Arlington St. and 11th St.
• Harrison Ave. between 4th St. and Tuscarawas St.
• The Tuscarawas St. bridge over I-77 is closed until late October 2006.
• The 4th St. bridge over I-77 is closed until late August 2008.

Jackson Twp :
     Shuffel Dr will be closed between the State Highway Patrol facility and Freedom Ave until 5/31/06.
     Strip Ave will have lane restrictions between Dressler Rd and Portage St during day-time hours.

Massillon:
     The Tremont Ave bridge between 2nd St SW and 5th St SW will be closed indefinitely.

North Canton:
     Beginning March 13rd, South Main St will be restricted to one lane in each diection between Everhard Rd and Knoll St.  Starting April 3rd, South Main St will be closed between Everhard Rd and Knoll St.  This project is expected to last until September, 2006.

Perry Twp:
     12th St will be closed from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM between Woodlawn Ave and Whipple Ave until 3/10/06.
     Richville Dr will be closed from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM between Jackson Ave and Southway St until 3/21/06.
