Zoning AssistanceStark County does not have county wide zoning, instead zoning regulations are adopted by the individual townships, cities and villages in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code. Twelve and one-half of the seventeen unincorporated townships have adopted zoning, as well, as the six cities and eight of the villages located within the county. The zoning directory below shows the zoned and unzoned areas, the date zoning was approved in the townships and a list of zoning inspectors or contacts for each of the political subdivisions in the county, with zoning. Official zoning maps and regulations are maintained by the individual political subdivisions. Contact the zoning inspector for information on zoning districts, permitted uses, parking and lot requirements, sign regulations and other specific questions regarding zoning. Some of the zoning resolutions are available on the web; check our home page for links to the political subdivisions. The Regional Planning Commission recommends to the township zoning commissions on proposed zoning resolutions and amendments to those resolutions, in accordance with Chapter 519 of the Ohio Revised Code.
