AS OF JULY 7, 2009, THE STARK COUNTY BUILDING DEPT. IS NOW REQUIRING THAT PERMITS BE ACQUIRED ON THE FOLLOWING PROJECT TYPES:
- ROOF REPAIR & REPLACEMENTS
- DEMOLISHION OF STRUCTURES
THE FOLLOWING PERMITS MUST CONTINUE TO BE ACQUIRED, AS REQUIRED BY THE OHIO BUILDING CODE:
- ALL NEW STRUCTURES
- GENERATOR INSTALLATION
- REPLACEMENT FURNACE & A/C
- ADDITIONS & ALTERATIONS
- STRUCTURE REPAIRS, DECKS, PORCHES
- ELECTRICAL/HVAC REPAIRS
THE BUILDING DEPT. WILL BE ENFORCING A 200% PENALTY ON THESE PERMITS IF THEY ARE NOT ACQUIRED BEFORE WORK HAS BEEN STARTED.

Notice is hereby given that in accordance with the Ohio Revised Code, Section 307.37, the Board of Stark County Commissioners will hold public hearings on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 @ 1:30 p.m. and Wednesday, June 10, 2009 @ 1:30 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Board Room located in the Stark County Office Building, 110 Central Plaza South, Suite 240, Canton, Ohio 44702.
The purpose of the public hearings is to hear comments on the proposed Registration of Specialty and Low Voltage Contractors doing work in Stark County.
Persons wishing to make comments may do so at the above stated hearings or by writing to the Board of Commissioners on or before Wednesday, June 3, 2009.
